I sat in the Italian leather chair in my office, watching the eleven o’clock news. It was the only place I found peace when I needed to clear my mind. When I told them to shut the club down, they did just that! It just so happened that a few of Damion’s boys were having a party, when my crew went through and lit it up. Damion was nowhere to be found when the shots went off, but I was sure the message I sent was loud and clear. If you weren’t a part of my team, then you were against me, and that meant you had to go. At twenty-seven, I had accomplished what most niggas in their forties haven’t. I had a beautiful wife, and daughter, owned my own house, had plenty of cars and money out the ass. Back when I was a teenager, I knew that going to college and working for another person wasn’t for me. The only time I went to school was to make a few weed sales. Back then, I was the youngest nigga on the block getting it. Don’t get it fucked up, I was smart as hell, but sitting in a classroom all day wasn’t my thing. Math and chemistry were the only subjects that came in handy. I learned how to cut up and weigh shit all in school. I took and applied everything I learned, and used it in these streets, but I was growing tired of the life I was living. I saw the hurt and pain in Harmony’s eyes when she looked at me. She thought I didn’t understand how she was feeling, but I did. If I wasn’t making money, then how else would we live the way we did? Nobody else was going to make sure that my family was straight, but me. That’s why I went so hard in these streets. I needed to know that if something was to happen to me, that Harmony and Te’Amber would be able to continue living the lifestyle they were used to. I had made millions, but I felt like it wasn’t enough. They had big spending habits.

I was interrupted by a knock at the door. “It’s open,” I said. Kudi walked in, looking clean as ever. It was about time to let the world know just who he really was. Kudi had played his part to the full extent. He knew the ins and the outs of the game almost better than I did. I had called him over so that I could repay him for all of his services. He had been rocking with me since I was a little nigga. I got up from the desk and dapped Kudi up. “Have a seat. There’s a few things I want to discuss with you.”

“What’s that?” Kudi asked, ready for me to get straight to the point. He was always so serious when he thought business was involved.

“Get that mug off ya face. It ain’t nothing serious.
